Jumping in as I have had a ring doorbell for about a year now, so thought I could give some thoughts.
- You can set sensitivity zones, so can specify how large an area and what angles set it off.
- If they have an existing door bell you can power it off that
- The Wi-fi isn’t brilliant on it, so make sure you get a decent Wi-fi read outside the door, if not you can buy the chime pro which works as an extender
Nest have just launched theirs in the UK too, a bit more money but has some added features, like facial recognition and pre-recorded messages, which could be handy if your folks take a while to get to the door...
