  • I was looking for something like this for my folks.

I've got a whole load of questions if that's OK?

    1. Was it easy to fit?
    2. What's to stop someone pulling it off?
    3. How long does the battery last? - I guess it's in the housing?
    4. Which one do you have?
    5. Is there a mic/2-way talking
    6. Do you live on a busy street? If so is it always being turned on? (my folks are in a terraced house on a busy road with a fair amount of foot traffic as well)
    7. Any other thoughts?

    Cheers

  • Jumping in as I have had a ring doorbell for about a year now, so thought I could give some thoughts.

    1. You can set sensitivity zones, so can specify how large an area and what angles set it off.
    2. If they have an existing door bell you can power it off that
    3. The Wi-fi isn’t brilliant on it, so make sure you get a decent Wi-fi read outside the door, if not you can buy the chime pro which works as an extender

Nest have just launched theirs in the UK too, a bit more money but has some added features, like facial recognition and pre-recorded messages, which could be handy if your folks take a while to get to the door...
