Less so now with 8 per team. Development riders can’t expect to be in the Giro or Vuelta teams either. It does highlight the need for proven quality for the tour teams though.
Hope Elissonde is in the tour team for Sky, may help against the hate and ugliness that Froome is almost certainly going to suffer.
Less likely to have piss or worse chucked on him if he has Elissonde by his side.
