  • That's hard af. How was it?

  • Whilst we're on the healing topic, I use Handy Gurugu from Lush, it's a hand cream but works well for me. Here's the blurb "shea, peanut, cashew and almond butters are blended with pumpkinseed and an infusion of rose water and rose absolute to reduce redness and hydrate. Evening primrose calms the skin, while chamomile blue oil acts as an antiseptic and fresh lemon juice brightens the skin".
It helps that it smells amazing as well.

  • chamomile blue oil acts as an antiseptic

got to be careful of antiseptic as it can attack the tattoo.

  • Where on your arm is it?
Just don't fuck with it. You'll know if it's infected because it will go bright red and angry. It's probably fine, just got to wait it out.

  • Possibly allergic reaction.
My wife had a bad reaction to a red ink previously, she ended up using e45 anti itch cream
    Worth a go?

  • My very colourful half sleeve is still occasionally itchy 3 months after I finished working on it.

    Anything I should worry about?

More love for Dexter from me. Top guy. The whole shop is a nice place to be.
Henry i was in there directly after your consultation for the skull. Probably would've seen you except i was10 mins late

  • Was very calm. All hand poked. Fell asleep durin it.

  • My swelling has gone down, but arms are still a bit puffy. I had to take antihistamine tablets to cool my blood off. The spots are the itchy part now.

I'm not sure about the recommendation to use cling film any more. I feel it does more harm (sweat from my skin dripping into the tattoo area) than good. Does anyone just not use it at all? My suspicion is that my skin irritations have been brought on by the film.

  • I use cling film to travel home and then to sleep in overnight on the first night and that's it.

  • the king of Hearts recommendation was 48 hrs. Not doing that again.

  • I use cling film, wash and change twice a day for the first few days. Bepanthen after that.

I've had problems with some brands of red ink (starbrite in particular) being really itchy and hard to heal.

    Antihistamines helped too

  • I got recommended lush dream cream but the guy that did mine. And to keep it clean with water.
    Healed super quick (was small).

So I’d shout lush dream cream.

Fuck Bepanthen, that’s a barrier cream, not mosisutieser. Sudacreme isn’t exactly full of good stuff. Get something natural and just keep it clean.

  • I found when I got serious problems with mine, I used clobaderm. Does the job nicely.

Bepanthen should only be used for a few days after getting it done until the initial wound has healed.

  • I’ve had about ten tattoos and each time I try something a little different and come out exactly the same a few weeks later. Only the last time I’ve had a bit of an itchy rash under the clingfilm but it was unusually hot; one of the reasons I only get tattooed in winter.
I’m convinced I could do nothing and it’d heal fine, but some clingfilm just helps with comfort/protection against clothing for the first few days, then moisturiser for a couple of weeks.

  • Most recent actually healed well with coconut oil. I was short on time and risked it drying out - was the only thing in the cupboard (from H&B). Cling film for two days then generous coconut oil, running water wash a few times a day. Healed pretty quick for a relatively large one.

  • Nr studio put this artist up as she’s doing a guest. Incredible.

  • My wife mentioned this guy

Proper good neo-traditional (right up my street)
Touch of the Peter Lagergren in his bold colour

  • It’s difficult to find a bad tattoo on someone here. But... the hipster game is strong.

  • Loving his stuff (Johnny Domus Mesquita) . I've been looking for someone to do my knees with a tiger and a snow leopard face.

I was hoping to find someone in the UK. But so far Isnard Barbosa is winning and he's in Dublin.

I'm not sure if my knees are too knobbley for it to work either.

  • New addition to my other calf.

Osange (from Korea) is doing a little tour and now he’s hosting at Old Habits.

Request was 5 moden types of execution.

Only managed to fit 3 (missing lethal inception and gas chamber), but it would onviously be too crowded, so it was a good decision. I’ll get the rest from someone else.

Considering that I gave him so little info on how I would want it look like, I love what he did.

Last minute change was removing most of people from “firing squad” spot.

    Very happy.

(Love the perfectly oval barbed wire frame)
