Thanks for all the suggestions, in the end I've decided to not get the knife engraved at all, decided to get a dog tag type thing to attach to it
However I made a decision on the knife and went with the Lansky world legal (treated myself to one too)
The Byrd Tern was a close contender but the Lansky just looks more secure to use, is half the price and the guy its for has big hands so think it'll handle better for him.
