  • That spoiler click thing had an explosion of popularity on here a few months back, then died away again. It's cool.

Re: The Expanse, the books are really worth reading.

  • It would be great if @Velocio added it as an option like the link and picture embed buttons but I think I remember reading that there's no code modification at the moment...

  • There was a more detailed response Fuck Off
  • Almost as good as @edscobles “mark all posts read” malarkey

  • Killing Eve is good

  • Almost as good as @edscobles “mark all posts read” malarkey

A dark day indeed. That really messed with me

  • Only numpties fell for that

  • I know I'm late, but just picked up the second part of season two of The Crown again, and boy is it fantastic.

Just saw the Kennedy episode, which was one of the best (at least from season two). Casting of the couple was pretty bad (distractingly so) though, especially President Kennedy. This is especially striking since the rest of the casting is impeccable.

  • im finding it hard to see why anyone would give a fuck about that show but whatever steams your onions.

  • I'm no fan of the royal family at all, but I really like it as well.

It's pretty obvious from watching it that Peter Morgan is a republican as well (and he has said as much), and it doesn't shy away from showing the hypocrisy, the (over)privilege and the powerlessness and sometimes the pointlessness of the royals.

But it's also very good at contextualising their lives, and making you realise how it must be to live in such a weird little bubble. The parts about Elizabeth and Philip's marriage, and the constant blow to his ego that is having to be second fiddle when it's suggested that it's clearly in his nature to be an arrogant, domineering prick is fascinating.

You should give it a go. If only for the speech that Princess Margaret gives to the white Rhodesians.

  • I think I was the one who mentioned how to do that and he took the ball and ran with it, hard.

    #sktf

  • Trollhunters.

    Yeah, it's for kids.

But it's still better than a lot of the other bilge on Netflix.

  • Also The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

    Frequently amusing candy floss TV.

  • Anyone watched A Very British Scandal? Getting rave reviews. (I've not seen it).

  • I prefer how to train your dragon.

  • I've seen the first two.

It's quite hard to warm to any of the characters but it's really well cast and well acted. The second one gets a bit silly but it works quite well.

  • I somehow watched the entire latest series without anything of note happening the whole thing felt very much like they're treading water now.

  • Started watching the latest series of The Americans (currently running in the US) and its reaffirmed my view that it's one of the best series about...soundtrack in particular hits the spot for a kid that grew up in the 80s

  • Love Fookin Island! What the fook has the world come to? I'm off up the shed for a smoke and a brew, back down for CduD highlights.

  • The Americans (currently running in the US)

    The final episode has aired!

  • Flowers back on tele last night

  • Just started first season of handmaids tale... That first episode is savage.

  • It doesn't really get any better...

  • yeah we're watching it as well. it's a great show and tense af, but it's a bit torture porn-y in parts. the episode where i think the writers are trying to humanise the wife of the commander by flashbacking to her being treated poorly by those damn pesky unwashed libs left a sour taste.

  • Never found a good time to watch the Handmaid's tale, not really a Sunday evening watch, nor a mid week one.
