Nah, this is what I thought I'd ask, but the whole reason for going to a bike shop rather than getting a friend who had been a mechanic for years is partly parts warranty, partly I could pop into a shop anytime in the first few weeks for fine adjustments etc etc. My initial plan was to pay my friend to build and get parts from the Interent, so as much as I love Harvey, without a shop, he is a bit like my friend, if you see what I mean? I can't keep knocking on Harvey's door everytime I want my gear adjusted or whatnot and I know with this build (it will be the most expensive bike I will own), I will want to be very very critical about everything, so I will probably be a nightmare customer on this count.
Still feeling sad about it... :-(
Maybe talk to Harvey and he might do some mechanic stuff from home while he is between work?
Was in cycle PS earlier today and Harvey said rents+rates bit of a double whammy. Didn't seem down about it just comfortably felt it was the right time. Like a champ was putting out more stock and said he planned to do everything as normal for sales and stuff right to the end.
