  • Well it’s just let me place an order for 4 of those G ones

  • If anyone is still clamouring for the file tread GKs in 32mm, I have such a pair that has been bought, mounted then unmounted when they wouldn't quite fit with my guards.

    £20 each?

  • I'll nab them if you'll post

  • I've had a VAT invoice through for those g-ones, automated admittedly, but you never know they might honour it..

  • Me too. Not holding out much hope, though.

  • Me also. Wonder if @PhilDAS did as he ordered after they were "out of stock"

  • Order confirmation and VAT email all received here

  • Hmm, so nothing learned from that.

We'll just have wait a bit longer then

  • Yeah, I’ll post. pm me your address and I’ll measure up and work out how much it’ll be.

  • Just got email from SJS about the £1.99 G-Ones. They can't fulfill the order right now as they've oversold due to the price error, but if happy to wait till end of June/July they'll actually honour it this time.

  • They're honouring the orders
Although they over sold and have run out of stock. I was asked whether I want to wait until late june/early july or cancel the order

    Edit: beaten to it

  • Didn't get that email, does that mean mine are on the way as the last of the stock? Man I feel bad to be honest, big hit for them to take probably

    @mattioats will PM now

  • My order has been dispatched! I guess as I got in there early they fulfilled it first. Props to SJS for taking it on the chin, even on the orders they can’t fulfill right now.

  • Does strike me that it may have been a marketing ploy. Sure they might lose a bit of cash on these few orders, but might lead to overall sales increasing as people trawl their site looking for more mistakes, not to mention telling all their friends the 'great deals they got on SJS'
Or maybe I'm just being a cynic

  • Not sure chancers trawling for mistakes are worth much tbh.

  • Could be. It certainly hasn't done their image any harm by honouring the orders.

It would also be a pretty risky tactic, I could have very easily ordered the lot and kept quiet, then they'd be out of pocket and have no 'marketing' to show for it. For that reason alone seems unlikely.

  • I've always found them very knowledgeable and very helpful. And they stock the weird parts that others don't. Just not always the absolute cheapest.

Am sort of fulfilling your prophecy I guess as a useful marketing idiot, but either way they don't seem like the sort to do something as calculated and cynical as that to me

  • I was mostly playing devils advocate, didnt mean to imply anything negative about the people who run SJS

Either way I cant see it hurting them in the long run. Like @ThePeginator says, by honouring these orders theyll gain trust and a bit of good press by word of mouth

  • @JB can you comment on longevity of G-One Speed?

  • @amey - 5000km rear. Currently on 6500km front but does need to be replaced fairly soon. YMMV depending on terrain obviously.

  • I have a wheelset thats tubeless only .. wise to ride G one speed across France on road?

  • 100%. I trust them very much on tarmac, gravel, up hill, downhill, in the dry, in the wet etc etc etc.

  • thank you!

  • G one or Gravel king for a Surly Pacer with Tektro r539.... I guess for a max 32c section? I can’t decide

Want touse it around the Lee Valley area and some light gravel routes. Thanks

  • Anyone running compass babyshoe pass tubeless? @edscoble?

I am tempted to try this tubeless malarky. I like the yellowy gumwall
(vs brown GKs) and enjoy the suppleness of my loup loup pass. Mostly road/bridleways/off-road paths maybe....
