I’ll consider getting the 25mm when the rear wears out, or becomes a pin cushion!
Planning to purchase the following:
3T ergonova ltd 38cm bars - ~170g
Challenge latex tubes ~60g each
For approx. 100g saving.Don’t want to change the saddle for the time being as it’s my current turbo bike, but will probably buy a carbon saddle once I’ve done all the other weenie things (trim everything to the limit)
I have veloflex. 23 front 25mm rear. They've only had about 1000km on them but they've been excellent. The ride is dreamy with latex tubes.
The reason I mention the 25 rear is I find a pretty exact pressure is needed on the rear tyre in order to get grip on wet or dusty patches of climbs (78psi for me - 60kg rider), but not be too low to pinch puncture. Traction is not really critical on most hardrider type timetrials but it definitely is on many of the hillclimbs in my area. If I had a 23 on the back to get the same grip I think I'd be into pinch-puncture territory.
FWIW the carbon SMP copies on eliexpress are excellent saddles and weigh nothing. I have several (and some real SMPs to relieve any guilt).
