I thought you were going for weight saving...just add some tubeless sealant
-
• #53
Too harsh, soft as possible.

Ti folding/removable pedals here - https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/ti-parts-workshop/
Also look at the Jtek Ti seatpost

Becuase it will ruin the rims more quickly?
-
• #56
I had this discussion in the Brompton thread, so you just add sealant in the inner tube?
-
• #57
- hard pads give less feel, 2. goodbye rims.

Yes.
Remove the valve core, squirt in the sealant, refit the core, inflate, ride.

How long does the sealant last/when will I need to top up? Also when I need to top up is there a limit on how many time I need to top up before I need to replace the inner tube?
-
• #60
Thanks, will add these to the shopping list.
-
• #61
Ti or carbon seatpost?
-
• #62
use half a bottle, should not dry up so no need to top up.
-
• #63
Jtek ti is light, looks rad, and still has the lip so it functions properly. Carbon is a dirty material to use on a Brompton ;)
-
• #64
yeah, make sure you buy inner tubes with removable valve cores for this, and then use leatherman pliers or a special valve core remover tool to add the sealant.
-
• #65
Wow! Seriously? Many thanks!!
-
• #66
Yeah, but I can resist the grams saving! Plus it’s nice to get matchy matchy handlebars and seatpost is somehow very satisfying. The only thing is worry is that it might crack/fail during everyday usage.
-
• #67
This makes a lot more sense as I didn’t see any removable valves on the standard Brompton inner tube...
-
• #68
I've tried the sealant in inner tube thing. With Stans and with not a lot of success. Maybe sealants have moved on a bit since.
-
• #69
has worked well for me in a tube under 26" worn down city jets, with a small bottle-full of stans. but of course now I say this it will stop working
-
• #70
stans has been working fine for me an my gf for 1000+ miles each, and loads of customer bikes have reported good things
-
• #71
brompton valves are removable.
-
• #72
Quite like the ti parts rainbow one, just not ready to fork out £240 on it just yet.
-
• #73
is very very nice, but not as light as the JTEK and doesnt loose the pentaclip - which is not a good/bad thing ..
-
• #74
Is this folding DBAD?

Did I see this in Condor about a week ago?
Was actually thinking more the swissstop ones.
