....so here's a pickle.
advice for a "friend" who is 44 male , back on the dating scene first time in 10 years, recently gets on like a house on fire online with a friend from a year ago - after 2 months of this, they decide to meet up for an afternoon , goes ok, but totally bottles it at the end as couldn't figure out if she wanted something more or not........now silence on both sides of the online conversation - wtf next?

I keep factory lube on in most cases. Unless you're racing it I'd rather not spend money on relubing.

Any dry lube on sale
I know it's been quite nice lately, but this is the UK.

Dickpic, it's a completely different way of doing things now.

Why is the Problem Solvers brake cable doubler (2 brake levers operate 1 brake) £90 when really it is a pre-existing piece of engineering that is used on all BMX brakes?

I need to replace a Tektro C310 V Brake on a kids bike - These are 'mini' V brakes, right?

Just nearly killed myself slipping up on the bastard York stone path that I paid an excessive amount for some years ago.
It's absolutely lethal in the wet. Now that I've cracked my head open, I feel like doing something about this hazard.
Is there any treatment or other course of action that can make this stone less slippery?
Ideally other than break it up and replace with concrete smoothed off with the back of a shovel.

sounds like my sort of plan - thanks all!

Isn't it algae and stuff on stone that makes it slippery? My dad swore by Jeyes Fluid for cleaning stuff like that.
-
• #91689
Yeah, it is the green stuff on top.
Ok Jeyes fluid, next thing on my shipping list after I get checked for concussion.
-
• #91690
Once you have removed the algae/moss/green growth, you could get it sandblasted so you get more grip?
-

Jeyes Fluid is ancient, maybe there is a better modern equivalent? Hope your head is ok :)

We sweep/scrub our path with a firm-bristled yard brush and coarse garden sand (as recommended by a neighbour). Works great for keeping the slimy algae coating away.
Hope you're ok dude.

Regular V-Brakes by the look of it. 110mm arm length and they're advertised as being for mountain bikes and trekking bikes so flat bar levers rather than STIs.

I use Elbow Grease from Poundland and that works well.
£1 for 500ml, solvent free apparently. I use with no gloves and I still have all my fingers.
I clean all my parts with it and it does not create white marks on black plastic which is a bonus on all the old french bikes I work on!

Ah, I left it too late. I'm just going to take what I used last time. The little Clip+
