I initially picked up this bike in France due to the amazing colour scheme and wanted to do a neo-retro project. However, I found out that the rear derailleur hanger was bent so I turned it into a singlespeed instead.
The frame was built and painted in 1999, for a local cycling club in the north of France. All threads are BSA so no compatibility issues. The overall condition is decent, with a couple of paint chips and on tiny dent where the drop have hit the top tube.
The RD hanger is bent and the paint is chipped around that area. There is a spot of surface rust on the other stay, nothing major but still worth mentioning.
New parts:
Tange steel headset;
Driveline 48t track chainset (1 1/8 chainring);
FWE Evans steel pedals;
Crosstop levers (26mm, silver);
Vintage Ambrosio bar tape in fluoro pink;
inner / outer brake cables; and
KMC half link chain in gorgeous baby blue.
Conversion parts:
ITM 130mm stem & matching drop bars;
26.6mm Campagnolo seatpost with beat up turquoise San Marco Rolls saddle;
Campagnolo Mirage bottom bracket;
Mismatched Shimano Wheelset, rear wheel is Tiagra freehub on Mavic CXP22 rims, tyres are Michelin 700c x 23mm;
Shimano 105 1055 brakeset.
All in, a lightweight & colourful conversion . Would make a great daily ride.
Test rides from Stoke Newington, I am after £185 -> £170 -> SOLD FOR £160 so not a vast amount over the price of the new parts.
