Sitting in Krakow airport waiting for my delayed flight. Can throughly reccomend the low Beskid Mountains on the Polish/Slovakian borders for awesome riding across a huge variety of terrain. Absolutely perfect for my current tastes in bicycle riding. Max and Piotr from Podia put together some breathtaking routes.
10/10, would reccomend!

Glad to head you like the Resolutes, I was thinking of getting some. Do they come up at 42mm?

Lovely, I reckon they'll fit my frame then. Thanks friend

Gevenalle just looks so cool, but somehow can't imagine it being nice to really use.
I used them for cross last year. I like them. No real complaints; you can't shift from the drops but who does that anyway.

No dummy was spat here. It was a throwaway reply* to your throwaway comment.
*might have been less confrontational with less swearing, granted.
Anyway, you should race your bike, it's fun.

I should and I’ve wanted to for too long.
Apologies for the snarky reply -

I actually do a lot of riding/shifting from the drops especially on the more technical gravel stuff.
-
• #4138
Probably not for you then! I wouldn't use them on the road, but in terms of bomb proof shifting for touring bikes and off-road bikes I reckon they're pretty good.

My VanNicholas has just died, as I don't want to be without a bike for too long (and buying a new frame will ease the pain) I've started looking. Brother Big Bro seems to fit the bill, would need some fiddling in BikeCAD to get a similar fit, but nearly all components would be transferable (QR wheelsets, BSA bottom bracket, 30.9mm seatpost) whilst it can still be upgraded to 142x12 through axles if I would want that at some point in the future.
Are there any similar frames I might want to know about?

My mates. We did it together four years ago.

He wants 650b×2" IIRC so Kona Sutra is out and probably some of the others too.

Cheers!
Vaya is a tad steep, especially considering I'd need new wheels.
What was Genesis thinking with that colour? But looks like a good option besides that.
Don't think I can make the Marin's geo work with that headtube.
Sutra looks ace, but same as the Vaya.Big Bro starts to look like a better and better option. Especially considering I've been mostly doing trail riding anyway, I could do a parts transplant now and switch to a proper mountainbike set-up in due time.

yeah. well if I was you I would just get a flat bar bike. but depends on what you're riding.

I use this http://www.bikegeo.net/ for some fiddling to get the fit right on the next bike. Maybe it helps.
Just wondering, what happened to the VanNicholas?

• #4147
Crack on the downtube. No clear cause, it just started creaking at some point.
