I followed the trip on Instagram too, and it looked really cool. Never been to Scotland but would love to go explore!

Did you have any issues with midges? That's basically all I've heard about when Scotland has come up as a place to camp.

No issues with midges as it’s May, also simply stay away from certain area like slow moving rivers to camp.

I only got bitten by mozzies when I went to a pub to get some peanuts!

It looks like the rondo ruut doesn’t have as many rack points.

Looks stunning! Were there many muddy bits?

Not a single one. The only issues were mounds of larger rocks that have been put down to only allow walkers and bikes through. It made it slightly trickier and we had to slow down for them. But no mud at all.

You're probably right, might be better off with a wider bar with a bit of back sweep.
