  • Haha, if you told me that a couple years ago I would have said yes, but I think shallower rims fits the build more.

  • Who says Kojaks are crap for daily commuting? I find them ace (700 tho - I'm not some kind of pervert).

  • Love it! Make a great bike even better :)

  • Don’t go Dynamo hub if the aim is to make it lighter.
Go to dinokiddo’s website for titanium shiny bolts and mechanicals for inspiration, purchasing, I like Nov designs personally and you can order direct from them as well.
Re: pedals, think you can find titanium folding pedals, have a think as it does help when carrying so it’s not constantly banging into your shin..

  • What does CHPT3 stand for?

@HoKe have you seen the MKS - Urban Step iN Ezy Superior pedals?

Time / look quartz one side, flat the other and quick release

  • These pedals are fairly terrible.

  • Oh really? That's a shame, @Dom used to have them and liked them I've not used them personally.

  • The locking mechanism is great (and on other mks pedals). Sadly there are small parts that fall off, nobody designed in any flat on the clip-in side (so the pedal rolls over unless you get the perfect clip-in). And they didn’t think to match stack heights on each side.

    tl:dr ..... don’t do it.

  • Have to admit, when I saw the CHPT 3 edition of the Brompton on the street I did stop to check it out thinking it was a whole new bike on market. The design really worked on me and sent me down on the same route of suddenly considering Bromptons.
    Congrats on buy.

  • Just words from the Brompton thread tbh, they're alright so far but as I said I might put some protection liner to increase the puncture resistant a little.

  • Well you know me, always inching to make something better than it already is....for fail trying.

  • Been looking at that website for site some time tbh, loads of nice stuff in that shop and will probably but a few things here and there to get the initial project started. However, talking to a mate of mine it is probably best to get certain things that actually makes a difference than just for pure aesthetic.

Its definitely a personal preference of riding clipped in than using the flat pedals atm.

  • I think chpt 3 is the brand for David Millers professional/personal career stage in life.

  • Wise words! Definitely noted!

  • Haha ditto! It definitely has the look/wow factor which I love in a bike. This will hopefully be a good bases starting point to start tinkering with the bike.

  • Subbed, wanna pimp out my brompton too one of these days..

Think about the suspension block/spring. The off the shelf ones are known to be way too soft.

  • While the MKS ones aren't perfect and have fallen out on occasion, i still prefer having them that bashing my legs with pedals every time i carry it

  • This is very true, so far a few bashes on my shin, but hopefully I can adjust the way I carry it.

  • So to get the ball rolling to get this baby to be bike that I prefer using everyday than a precious jewellery piece that I am riding with care and attention. New Kojak tyres and liner will be coming to get a better protection.

The next focus will probably be the brakes and the cockpit of the s-type Bromtpon. The plan is to hopefully replace the handlebars with carbon ones, just purely I like how they ride. Initially I wanted to replace the brake levels with these bad boy, unfortunately the new Brompton seems to have integrated the shifter and bell quite nicely on the levels. So this might be a problem. Solutions anyone? Shall I leave the brakes levels as they are and just focus on the rest of the bike instead?

  • That brake lever and Get the trigger shifter

  • Those brake levers for sure!

I secretly dream of transforming mine into this one

  • Can I buy your gumwall Kojaks please. My dinokiddo ones have worn out.

  • Carbon bars are a good shout. I have some on my SS Dahon folder. I'm also gonna go for those brakes when I get a chance, they'll suit a Brompton more than my thing

  • New style pads are not as good as dura ace inserts on shimano hosts, much better!
