My IWC has started to just gain time roughly 5/6mins per hour. 1 year old and has worked fine until today. I'm always nervous of warranties and that they will find a reason to void it, should I be ok? Never opened, dropped or worn in water etc so not sure what's happened.
I don't think magnetism is covered under the warranty. But any good local independent watchmaker should be able to demagnetise it for very little money - which won't involve the risk of shipping it from a retailer to a service centre and back. Doesn't sound like it needs a service.
I thought these watches had something in the design to stop them becoming magnetised. The iphone app reckons it is magnetised. How would it have happened - I haven't been through an airport scanner or something I think would magnetise it...
