  • Not an issue I thought about till tried to find one. Most of the pro places aren't but cater for the diyer that wants to feel like a pro. Found the 12 doesn't leave roller marks like a 9 does, used the rota brand cheap rollers from toolstation, as have used them before and have found them to be good and don't shed. Try to clean rollers and brushes as I try and buy thedecent ones, other half buy shite from the poundshop.

Still have yet to go to france and that is quite alot of wall and confined spaces. So hand 12 roller will probably be better than 18 on a pole.

Got quite alot of paint from Homebase clearance center in ponders end? as they are clearing out stock as stores close. Got some decent branded paint for cheap...

Actually masking tape, what would you recommend?

  • Masking tape is a big subject. I have about 10 different types on the go. Green frog tape is expensive but does a good job masking between emulsion on walls and acrylic on woodwork, the yellow one is better sometimes depending on how fresh/stable the emulsion is. There's one I use that's white with wet paint printed on it, no idea who makes it but I use it for the edges of floors as it can be left down for weeks without leaving residue.

It's hard to find a masking tape you won't end up hating as every type has it's own qualities and it needs to be matched to the work. Kip & Tesa are probably the top brands.
