drop it off with his daughter, I can get it whenever I want from her. It’s v close to my work
Hmm that's awkward, but no more awkward than had it ended up in the post office depot I suppose.
He should be refunding you 100% of the delivery cost, no other outcome is reasonable in my opinion
The problem with this is that eBay charges on the full final value including postage, so if he refunds the whole lot, he ends up being out of pocket. I'd suggest going halves.
Because the other problem which is slightly more conceptual is that postage on eBay kinda means 'I get the thing to you' which, should @MCamb actually end up with the thing, the seller has achieved with a similar inconvenience to a normal delivery assuming the item needs to be signed for.
That said when I dropped off some wheels with a chap at a station I refunded the postage minus a quid or two for eBay hassle.
Wondering what people’s opinions are on this:
Buy item, pay + postage. Guy says hey whereabouts in London are you, i’ll drop it off. We arrange and he says he’ll be in meetings, but will drop it off with his daughter, I can get it whenever I want from her. It’s v close to my work
Should I ask him to refund me some / all of the postage fee (£25) feels like I should seeing as he’s not posting it or really going out of his way, other than bringing the item into town with him. I haven’t brought it up yet, so wondering how strong a stance I should take..?
