Deore LX front hub- why not?

  • I have decided to keep it in the end, but out of curiosity why did nobody even look at this hub (Deore LX HB-T670 brand new 32h silver) when I put it in classified? In touring circles they are considered a go to choice as you get ever lasting high quality cup & cone bearings with mega effective double sealing and a sensible cromo axle, so why not for the front of your fixie or SS? That is what I am going to do with it now anyway...

  • Link mate?

  • As I said, changed my mind about selling it, but it was here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/320966/#comment14241777 I have had it in the spares box a while, but will now build myself a 'summer' front wheel and just run the heavier dynamo hub one when I need it in the darker months.

  • I'unno.

Decent hub at a decent price. Just nobody needs or wants it right now. There's no mystery or conspiracy. Not every item sells here immediately, regardless of how well priced or appealing it is.

  • I guess, anyway I am glad there was no interest, but I just wondered if there was some collective LFGSS prejudice against Shimano, 'MTB' components (Shimano now call Deore LX "Trekking") or cup & cone bearings?

  • There is not.

  • But how can you know that for sure, I mean are you the official LFGSS spokesperson? ;-)

  • What a strange thread

  • It’s not a bad hub (had ‘em on my first mountain bike, a purple Scott) but it’s not the sexy end of the fixie skidder market - which seems to get the most love here.

  • I put a Dolan up for sale, went in days.
i put a bargin box of 2xframes and a wheelset and various other parts.......... nothing, not even "will you split"
That's how it goes, no nibbles in 3 days is not the end of the world, some really nice gear on here that's generating interest for weeks, even months but still not selling.
Summers coming sales should pick up :)
