Frame arrived today, at which point I realised that my deep wheels are too wide and are fouling the chainstays. Got some other wheels which I think would foul too as soon as any power was put through them. Not sure I can really be arsed finding something to fit.

Old bike problems innit. Currently wondering whether I can be fucked with a project where I’ve realised I’ll have to run a 20mm tyre on the rear.

Hadn't even occurred to me. Would make a nice weenie/hill climb bike but don't really have the time/money/inclination. Might have to sell it on.

Thought the same with mine but then I decided that if it was a piece of piss build and everything slotted together perfectly, it wouldn’t be much of a project.

I can fit Zipp 202's in my Quantum, but when I tried to fit ENVE 2.2 SES in the brake track rubbed the drive side chainstay. So, stay with tubs and period rims and you are golden.

Problem is, I was hoping to swap everything over from the dale, but it's less tempting if I can't use my everyday wheels. Got some Reynolds assault/attack (?) which just fit. Seems to be the depth more than anything, as the stays get wide about 30mm below the brake track. Modern, wide but shallow rims might work.

I personally love the bar tape but it's for sure gonna be spash-tape levels of divisive.

And tbh I just grabbed a photo of some guy being like "I finally got the thing together again!", it's not like, pro final photos.

Rarely has a bike needed gumwalls so badly.

And idk I'm fine with the stack height but it really needs those steel spacers to smooth out the transition.

Though honestly I'm just nitpicking and this is those two things away from being my ideal road bike

I'm being roasted by Radavist on Instagram for calling out the Scoblebrick situation... theres no need for the spacers above the stem though, also arguing that the spacers are there for fit and then using a negative stem is bullshit.

Well you could argue that it's a new bike and the owner is still finding his or her perfect fit by moving around spacers. But yes, it needs to flip that stem and lose the tower of power.. This is just ridiculous, typical Radavist if you ask me.

Those Ritchey frames do have very short head tubes.

Bike is a bit of a dogs dinner though. If you have a frame that loud, keep everything else as simple as possible.

Ritchey are actually #DBAD as in they are built around one part which is Tom Ritchey.

Tom wants longer TT and short HT, Tom gets longer TT and shorter HT and so do all of us.

Spacers aint bad things tho.
