• Finally gathered enough parts to rebuild both my holdsworths, both intended to be ridden long distances and loaded, just don’t have racks yet.

First up is the geared option, old school 105 8 speed. Shifting is fantastic and very solid feeling. Wheels are campag but no issues with indexing at all.

Next up is the path racer, fixed/free running 43/16. Ideally would love to tour on this but ultimately it’s about how fit I am when the date arrives. 25s because I’d like to fit mudguards when time and money allows.

  • I rode my dad's 1970s Holdsworth for a while. Really liked it, so much so that I gave it back because I didn't want to wreck it by commuting in the road salt and rain.

That's a lovely pair you've got there (ooh matron), how old are they?

  • is the geared one @tommmmmmm old one? The path racer looks fantastic, just needs a matching tyre and some nice stainless mudguards.
