Skewers? So many times I’ve spent hours searching for a creak and it’s been skewers.

skewer tend to creak but not at specific point in the pedal stroke. Cracks or creaks at particular points in the pedal stroke is more likely than not to be pedal/cranks/bb but never rule anything out including your knees and hips.
