My 1.5× system is going well. Just need a second set of cranks (in the post) and to replace the cage on this derailleur with a long one (which I have got, but the bolt's been rounded off by previous owner). Gutting the brifter was a bit scary as they're not cheap. Tentative plan is two wheelsets, 700c + 11-36 (may go down to 32 when this one dies) and 650b + 11-42. So I can do 42×11-36 road, 50/34×11-36 touring, 42×11-42 gravel with 650b.
When I've got all the parts I'll time myself doing a swap, hoping it'll only take 15 mins especially as the friction shifter only needs to be in the right ballpark to work. I'm really going to have to keep on top of chain condition, that's for sure.
Edit: Nothing wrong with chain length, maybe a tad too long but within tolerance (same one from the 50/34 setup). Not keen on that Hope chainring, bit ugly, but it'll do for now.
