  • The mercian is a really heart wrencher... I've been toying with the thought of selling it for a while as it's just gathering dust, lot of dust! I have the original build sheet and the original receipt somewhere, but the seat tube is around 57cm ctc (60cm ctt), top tube 55 or 55.5 ctc I guess what you would call tall and compact. The paint around the seat tube has been touched up as the original owner didn't grease the post 🙄 But if I sell it it will be around the £275 mark. It's black, with silver decals, full Reynolds 725os build, shifter lugs in the down tube, chrome dropouts in the forks and frame, chrome crown in the matching forks, I should add, it's 1-1/8" head tube with matching Mercian steel forks.

Excuse the photos, I'll clean the dust off and get some better pictures up of it on Wednesday.

The frame set new was £1095, I think the frame on its own now retails for £1200. So I think £275 for the frame an fork in it current condition is pretty good.

  • PM'd re Mercian. thanks. T

  • I wonder if there's any possibility I could make this fit at 6'5" - reckon seat tube would be OK - but that top tube length .....

  • Hey, I'm interested in a load of these parts. Will PM!

  • Dibs the hope hub! Will pm in the am
    Cheers,
    Matt

  • That's one of the bits I don't need!

Am after the shifters, FD, bars and pedals in case anyone wants to dibs the other stuff.

  • Just PM you :)

  • I'm relied to all PM... slightly late as usual.

  • Mercian is lovely. GLWS

  • is the rear mech still up for grabs? if so how much posted please.

  • Can I little holes in the rear dropout for a Portacatena?

  • A Portacatena goes in the seat stay, not the dropout. Otherwise it will foul the cassette and chain.

  • Rear mech is sold, will up date the ad

  • How about posting the Centaur callipers?

  • How old is the Mercian? Will you post it back to the East Midlands?

  • The only items that are left are the Veloce brake calliper and the Mercian, which to be honest I haven't really tried to sell. I'll dig the paperwork out from Mercian and ping it to interested parties.

I am happy to to post the Mercian and of the top of my head it was build 2009

    Cheers Andy
