  • Is there a forum approved demagnetiser? It really seems like all my watches are - according to lepsi. I don’t have the money to send cheap watches for service.

  • The good ones aren’t cheap. They provide a ramped magnetic field which means you just press a button and that’s about it, although you would change the orientation once and repeat usually.

With a cheaper Chinese one like I have, you press the button and it’s on, and release and it’s off. This is not good for demagnetising as the sudden change in magnetic impulse can leave the item magnetised. So, you hold it on and slowly draw the item (watch) away from the source of alternating magnetism before switching off.

  • That’s what I was afraid of - sounds much like my last attempt at research a month or two ago. Cheap = cheap.

  • Damn you! I love the blue, was relieved when they went out of production and I hadn’t brought one. I’m not sure I really want to know how much they go for now... but I do

  • Another Seiko.. cocktail time re-issue

  • if it aint broke ....

  • LCIII just out of shot

  • Hey my machine’s at least 15 years younger than that!

  • I've got one of them with the power reserve. Love it.

Had to change the strap though, patent leather isn't my thing.

  • This thread can't be this quite for this long... Not while I'm stuck at home..

    Anything?

  • Where are you?

  • If you change 'Seiko' to 'Seiko/Citizen' I'll be at 1 for the rest of my days.

  • I did 1 and 2 then bought a G-shock. I nearly went to 3 when I got a bonus, but the presence of man selling the big issue near the watch window instilled too much guilt.

  • Is Omega like 7, or 10?

  • Then why the rest of the curve? 3 then death, no?

  • so speedy is about to get sold to a forum member.. these are the options if i get the right deal.
bear in mind this will be my only watch for awhile.. clothes to go with, 90% casual jeans and tshirt/shirt.
the only watch i've seen in person is the blue el primero.

  • I think i like the 4th one. I'll wait for someone with a keener eye to point out something i'd never noticed but now never cant.

  • I'd go with Silver, Grey or Blue El Primero.

Monaco was my first 'Dream Watch' as a teenager when I started getting interested in them. It's a watch I've definitely fallen out of love with.

  • +1 for any el Primero. Classy watches. Copied by many.

  • Another primero vote. Cry every tiem.

  • Well, it is a magic number.
