  • That looks alright from where I'm sat.

  • Thanks, pretty happy with it. want to spray/stick a word on the masked off bit on the tt but struggling

  • Looks proper good!

  • any recommendations on cheapest/easiest/quickest way to get a custom decal?

Ebay! They have loads of UK custom decal sellers.

  • Finally got around to clean my never ending Vitus project after the Roubaix sportive. Thing rides like a dream.

Still in need of some new wheels, have been holding out for Exalith Open Pro's around some DT-Swiss 240 hubs I have been hoarding for a while. But those rims seem to dead before even released, think I will resort to a pair of Kinlin XR22T instead.

  • Ask someone with a vinyl printer like @HatBeard to print you it out, then paint, mask, paint.

  • Recently built this up. Rebranded Somec. Been perfect for the last weeks summer temperatures. Funds needed for new projects though so its going up for sale.

  • clean !!!!

  • That’s awesome. Shame you are selling...

Dibs wheels if you end up splitting ;)

  • Seriously nice, first time I've seen a Vitus built up with modern gruppo looks super clean

  • I had the frame for years sitting unused in a corner with a full 600 tricolor group and some random other components. Build started when a 25mm DA7402 aero post popped up locally for cheaps about 2 years ago. But life got in the way, buying a house, having offspring, you know how it goes.

Quite happy how it turned out, the mix of Dura Ace 7400 parts and 9000 components where made for eachother. Sucks that the Nitto M106 did not fit the 7400 quil stem, but the classic bars might actually fit the frame better.

  • Super nice! The DA mix is perfect.

  • It's a vinyl cutter but same difference. can either do a stencil type for masking or just cut decal letters out of outdoor vinyl which would be robust enough for most bikes I think. would need either the font or a design to use and dimensions.

If you want white ones I can do it for beer tokens as I have a roll of it at home(I think) any other colours would need you to buy some vinyl sheets in the right colour off ebay or whatever.

I'm planning on doing some for my steamroller in next week or so if you want to wait and see how I fare with that @yokes you could .

  • Thanks for the recommendations all!

@HatBeard thanks for the offer, white would be great. If I clearcoat over the vinyl I'm sure that would hold up. Is it self-adhesive? Only issue is that it's a birthday present and in typical fashion I've only left myself 2 weeks... Will PM

Now just need to decide on silver or black finishing kit

  • Started a stupid tracklocross project with spare parts.

This is beautiful! You might have thought of this already, but did you consider matching the M106 bars with the Nitto Dynamic stem? I used this to replace my old Cinelli set-up and much prefer the bar shape. (I also still have the Dura Ace AX aero seat post on this, lovely except the graphics started wearing off about 20 years ago!)

  • Good thinking! The Nitto NTC-A Dynamic stem was indeed my backup plan, but then the stem and seatpost would stop matching. I'm pedant like that. :)

Also, are there any Garmin out front mounts that fit classic bar diameters with out a bulky rubber shim?

  • Didn't Nitto make the Dura Ace stem on behalf of Shimano? So it's a sort of match anyway and has the same finish. No idea about out front mounts, I've now got a standard Garmin mount attached the right handlebar collar.

  • Also, are there any Garmin out front mounts that fit classic bar diameters with out a bulky rubber shim?

Get racewear direct to make you one?

  • Went to install a rear brake on the below build but it comes up short when using concave brake bridge washers, the only way I can think to solve this without drilling from an angle and potentially damaging the bridge would be to use a front brake and a nut on the end rather than a recessed bolt. So if anyone has a cheap silver front brake and or some silver track cranks then drop me a pm please -

  • Solid 11/10 neo retro built. +1 for the vintage stem & post ;)

  • Progress on this 1986 "Cycles Océane" in Reynolds 453.

Going 1 × 7 speed while using a lovely pair of red Ambrosio Balance rims laced to Shimano 105 hubs.

Integrated 45T chainring & guard is from eBay (about £10). New 112mm bottom bracket fitted.

Needs brakes / cabling / tape.
