Compressor advice

  • Has anyone any experience with compressors? Don’t want to spend the earth but do want it to be useable but not industrial. Has to go under my workbench.

  • The lidl ones at £80-110 are decent value.

There's a few companies online that sell reasonable ones for under £200. But don't expect to be able to run high consumption devices like drills/sanders/impact drivers or be able to paint with them. Don't produce enough lpm and make a lot of heat/moisture.

Clarke industrial /pro line are better for longevity (can get parts for them easy) but your upto around £350 for something adequate for workshop use.
I got a monster for not a lot used, had around 8-10 hours on it from new (a weeks work in a small workshop). Quite large though 45amp peak starting current needs a decent bit of wiring to power it
