Ah, but were you any good at MTB downhilling?
I specialised in riding a BMX with a coaster brake. Is there hope?

"in 2015 Kenya was deemed “non-compliant” by the World Anti-Doping Agency only to be reinstated before the Rio Olympics."
Oh, it's more brown paper envelopes to the IOC just like Russia.

Remember that Argentinian pro who rode away from everyone to win at the Tour St Luis (or whatever it's called) in January?
You'll be shocked to hear he's been busted for CERA.

Some rum quotes from his twitter account in December just before the race
"If you don't go for everything, why go at all?"
"Do it, they will criticize you anyway" -

The start sheet is out for Lincoln and Arlen is down to ride. It’ll be very interesting to see if he turns up and if so, if he puts on a stellar performance or if he gets spat as soon as the real racing starts. Im looking forward to watching how he performs against the real A listers of the domestic scene rather than the second tier guys he’s been dicking for the last few months.

If he can race smart, he should be able to top 10. He's strong enough to podium if it goes right for him. But having watched how he races, I'm not sure he's very tactically astute, and good as saving energy. He's not picked it up yet.

I very much doubt it. If his ftp is 370, he’s clearly carrying some timber as well. I know what I can produce and I know exactly where I fit in a Nat A. It’s not his ftp that’s going to count, you know it’s all about wpkg over the top of the climb and he at 47 will not have those repetitive 10+wpkg kicks over the top in his legs. Even Malcom Elliot couldn’t keep up at the end of his time with Node 4 and he was an experienced world level cyclist. I expect what we’ll see is a completely lack lustre performance and a bunch finish. I head Thames Velo was a little off his usual performances this weekend, maybe he’s keeping his head down knowing everyone’s watching his every move now.

I now mostly follow this thread as it gives me an insight to the gap between the cat 4 guys I follow on Strava and the pros.

47 year old man bridges solo to a group of 20 conti riders riding through and off to catch the break.

Look, he’s a very experienced cyclist new to this discipline. It’s just that he was a downhiller, so he’s never had to pedal before.

What stage of the race was this? The race report on BC doesn’t mention it.

What’s the story with the guy who won? His twitter profile claims he is at One Pro but he is unattached? Also read that he didn’t take up cycling until 2015 then left a career as a stockbroker.
