Ordered the 160mm spindle and lockring tool from Qwerty Cycles, after tweeting CSG UK to see if they knew who would actually have the spindle in stock.
Also ordered a 125mm spindle which should give me a 163mm q-factor and work with BSA30 on a 73mm shell. Using the Fat SpideRing would result in a 53.5mm CL, but running a Absolute Black (5.7mm offset) ring should give a 49-50mm CL. Rep to @amey for the inspiration.

Carbon-Ti X-Monoring 30t gives a ~67mm chainline with ~5mm chainstay clearance using the Fat CAAD 160mm spindle and spacers with a RaceFace BSA30 BB (no shell spacers).
Need a seattube-mounted chainguide, my old one was BB-mounted, had no lateral adjustment and kept rotating round the BB (possibly overgreased).

My buddy is going to be selling his single speed surly pugsley very soon (he's just cleaning it at the moment!)
It's in that lovely purple sparkly colour and while it does have some marks from use, it's bloody lovely....
Size medium, and mostly stock ish....he wants to get £500, which I think is a bargain and I would have it myself if it were a large.....he's got some 4.8's (bud and Nate?) for sale separately too.
If anyone wants a pic, I'll get one up....Sort of a sale ad, but it's not mine....sorry if out of order!

This would form a nice singlespeed Silk Road bikepacking rig and obviously I would not like to see any pictures.

Ok, I'll make sure that I don't take a couple of snaps and I definately won't post them up here. 😉
You better hope it's not sunny, as it looks lovely in the sunshine and you'd hate not looking at it.Fucking hell, that was tough to write!

Just taken a couple of snaps...firstly though, he would accept £600, as he is leaving a Thomson stem and seatpost on, and a very nice selle italia slr.... fair enough I think. The Marge lite rims are also set up ghetto tubeless.

Why do I feel like I need a fatbike in my life at the moment when clearly I don’t?
I already have 3” tyres on my ogre and it’s woefully sluggish on tarmac :/ -

The older you get, the more appealing a fat bike becomes.

Maybe you're being #influenced? Stay away from the interwebs and ride your awesome ogre

Luckily the Surly Wednesday I was lusting after on fleabay has finally sold which is a good thing. My ogre is indeed awesome, feeling sluggish just means I need to ride it more...
I think I’ve been #influenced by the most recent bikewanderer videos somewhat after binging on them over Xmas. Unlike him though I’m not trekking through South America on donkey trails. -

There were fat bikes on Countryfile last night. A few Surly being ridden on sand in Scotland. Looked great fun.

Not quite fat, but my semi, 29plus stache has been getting a slight makeover before committing to full on respray, probably in the winter. I've been adding some sticky back plastic, cut into a rough approximation of the Swedish M90 camo pattern....

I prefer these ;-)
Doing maths...
Fat CAAD runs Si arms on a 160mm spindle through a 120mm BB30 shell, with a ~9mm offset spidering for a 71mm chainline on a 197mm TA rear.
With a 160mm spindle, a BSA30 BB and a 100mm BSA shell, I'm going to attempt a 65mm-ish chainline, probably by using an AI (+6mm offset rear vs normal) flat-ish spidering.
