Sister-in-law's new boyfriend is from Nelson Bay, she's been eating herself silly there this weekend, looks like a lot of fun... Wanna go to the Blue Mountains, got a few mates from there...

should I bring my bike kit with me next week? I like the sound of heading to the blue mountains, but I'm horribly unfit.
If you did, I wouldn't suggest the blue mountains. For a nice ride that's not going to hurt head north over the cycle path on the harbour bridge, down through mosman and the spit then through manly. Take a detour up to North head for views then head north again past the beaches and up to church point. Grab a coffee. Then continue up to west head. Take more pics (you'll be looking down on "summer bay") then head back out through Terry hills, across wakehurst parkway and back to the city. I think about 75 Kay's or so. All around west head/ church point is nice roads, nice bushland and water views. A few shitty fast roads in between the nice bits.
If you're really keen bit only want to do a short spin there's good rides from the city to Bondi etc. Shoot me a PM if you'd like. I'm really, really unfit but if time allows I would be happy to meet or even just give more info!
There's also great walks all around Sydney. -

The chaps in the office recommended Bondi beach as something to do today- obviously I’m on my ronesome, will my bag/towel/wallet get stolen if I go into the water?

All the other beaches along that coast are nicer for swimming. There is the classic coast walk, Coogee to Bondi with good bus connections at each end. Riding is good if you research the back street routes and like hills. Bronte beach has grass and some shade, if you walk from there to Bondi stop for a beer at Icebergs club, sign up for temporary membership. One of the best views around.

Get some food in Chinatown, pop into the Hollywood Hotel for a chat with a film star, buy a Rapha Sydney CC cap at the shop, find a nice spot outside a café and just watch the world go by... I love Sydney...

That’s a point, I could drop into the Raphe, might just spend the day wandering around with my camera. Could do with buying a hat as I’m slowly but surely running out of hair.

Yup, there is a "cute" shop in the most prominent mall here that has some in the window as well. So fucked up.

Reminds me of a line from Daliso Chaponda (I think)
Australia is basically South Africa except the white man won

Yeah, Oz is going the wrong way. Racism masquerading as bogan-chic is totally in.
Pretty grim really.

Australian governance continuing its crazy self destructive streak, this time the liberal party are imploding... What a bunch of clowns...

The fact that they nearly made Dutton PM is beyond pale. He's the guy that walked out when Kevin Rudd apologised to the stolen generation in parliament.

It's incredible, they are gonna tank hard, he won't even keep his seat if he wins... Mind you, his constituency is pretty fucked up... It's just down the road from me, lots of like-minded fuckwits around here...
Hoping Malc calls an early election... They won't but...

Pretty big news... It's been doing the rounds for a few days but I can't see him fucking up that badly, you'd have to be an idiot of Barnaby Joyce's magnitude...
Oh wait... 😂
-
• #1574
Well, good riddance if that's the case. That fuckwit Dutton needs to get reigned in. Who would want a racist automaton as PM?

The U.K.?
The Blue Mountains aren't the sort of place I'd ride while on holidays. The road is busy and covered in rubbish, and to be honest it's a bit dull until you get to Leura or Katoomba. I only ride here because it's unavoidable if you live half way up them. The walks are however pretty spectacular.
