• What method of dispatch did he use? The only time I've faced a similar incident was after seeing a duck hit by a car, my friend and I settled on a hammer to put the still writhing bird out of it's misery but, when using the claw side to drag it out of the road, the body came clean away from the head. Turns out what we took to be pain was the headless chicken effect. I was quite relieved at not to having to stove it's head in with a hammer but it's left me still unsure if my squeamishness would have got the better of me when it actually came to it.

  • ... just happened to have a hammer on you?

When you settled on the hammer which of your other tools did you dismiss? Chainsaw too noisey?

  • Don't you always carry a hammer with you? Most versatile tool there is. We did consider trying to file its head off but the toolbox in the boot of my buddy's car offered limited options.
