How about a Sony DJ9000with a stanton 500 cart? Designed for djing so can handle abuse.

Thanks; that could work - on a bit of a budget for this, though. How much?

Heyo, any largish speakers going around the £200 mark? Just did an amp upgrade and my old eltax set is letting the team down..

Loads! I just got some really rare R2R HPR-12m speakers, made in the USA in the 80's theyre pretty huge and weigh a ton. The veneer has some scratches and chips on the corners. Would do them for 200, if not i've got loads of other speakers I can dig out

Hiya, looking for some bookshelf speakers to go with a sonos conmect:amp I got for free!
Do you have anything decent and reasonably cheap that could work? -
• #911
They look really good, I'd need them shipped up to Glasgow though so potentially a bit over budget?
-
• #912
If you'll allow me to jump in here - I have an amp with a phono stage going cheap in the classifieds. It's one of these: https://www.marantz.co.uk/uk/products/pages/productdetails.aspx?catid=hifi&subcatid=amplifier&productid=pm4001&status=discontinue

Hey Dazaa, never heard of NRG, as I result I've just been reading some of your posts elsewhere on the internets after looking up your amplifiers. Absolutely intrigued ... how did you get them running?
-

Ha, I haven't yet! It's been what, 4 or 5 years since I found those beasts? Funny thing is im heading over to my tech guy today to discuss how to proceed with them. Main issues were 1, no schematics, but I got in touch with the last guy left from the company and he sent me what I needed. 2, the boards that had been butchered inside were missing lots of NLA transistors so it took months of searching to find modern replacement with similar specs. Finally when we got close to getting one powered up we discovered something wrong with the power supply sections, hoping the xformers aren't shorted as they won't be cheap to repair.
Dazza, I'm looking for a turntable for my eldest (14), so something reasonably robust and simple to use that will make a decent sound.
Anything in currently? One of those technics or dual from a couple of pages pack would suit.
thanks.
