• So I'm thinking about some better disc wheels for my Mason and wondered about Carbon - any recommendations?

As far as I can see there's a huge gap between Hunt / light bicycle level of quality, and Enve / knight composites type stuff - plus a surprising number of quite heavy but not that cheap wheels out there. Which way would people go?

Or do I just go fancier alloy and go Hed Ardennes / Belgiums?

I want tubeless ready and disc brake; I already have 2 sets of hunt alloy wheels which I have no real complaints with, just not sure if I should look further afield

  • Carbon / lightbicycle seems the usual on here. Enve or HED if you have $$$

  • Are you mistaking quality for price? Enve quality isn't anything special, you just pay for US manufacturing costs. There are voids in a dissected Enve rim same as the cheapest Chinese rims. Light Bicycle rims are really very, very good value.

What so far unidentified deficiencies in the Hunt wheels do you hope to solve by getting something "better"?
