Got me thinking about dog tooth ...

Does anyone have any advice on matt-ing up a glossy powdercoat? I wondered if basically I could give my surly a once (or twice) over with some coarse sandpaper or wetndry and it would go to a nice matte finish

That's going really well. Reminds me of memphis design.

Thats was scary in places but really fun to work on. I helped with the tube bending for the rear triangle and built those wheels. Gutted I've never seen the finished thing in exhibition. Huge sypmpathy for you guys ;-)

Can you get this from a rattle can?

I wouldn't have thought so.

These effects are usually achieved using what is effectively a translucent powder pearl suspended in a ckear base over a black basecoat.

To get these effects consistent, you would need a particularly well controlled application from a 'proper' gun.

I don't know of a rattle can that could achieve constant and consistent pressure or a wet enough application to get this right.

I'm happy to be proven wrong though because these products are EXPENSIVE!
