Cool, ta - I've got some prescription sunnies that work fairly well on the bike, but my regular ones aren't so good. May have to take a look.

Boom tish. Have already tried two lost property offices, each has told me I need to go to another different one. Am going to keep trying. Googled to see if there were any for sale and found they were re-issued last year in a limited run of 200 which sold out in minutes. Grrreat.

Maybe worth registering them as lost on this site: https://www.missingx.com/
Unfortunately didn't work for me when I lost my glasses at a GWR station but hopefully you'll have more luck.

Persol vs Maui Jim vs Serengeti sunglasses?
Always loved my Persol but I'm put off by them being owned by Luxotica. Heard Serengeti and Maui Jim were good. Any experiences?

Where is the cheapest place on the highstreet for replacing prescription lenses? Cubbit's said they'd do them for £50 and get them back to me in a week ...

Persols are beautifully made, have the strongest hinges in the business and the lenses are absolutely top notch in terms of clarity and lack of distortion.
I tried some Maui Jims but I didn't think they were as well made or good looking as the Ray Bans that I ended up buying.
Not tried Serengeti. -

I have some Maui Jims and like them. I had lenses replaced last year because mini c00ps scratched the hell out of them and their service was great.
Persols are lovely though, as you and bq say. Sadly, I couldn’t find any to suit my big noggin a few years back, so I got some Revos instead (great lenses, but lost them somewhere). Not tried Serengeti either.

A lot of the private pilots when I was flying wore Serengeti, not tried them myself but I was in the minority flying with Ray Bans.

"barely a pair of glasses, Inc lenses that costs more than £30" it's a disturbing article, how we are being led.

Specsavers are £35 and often do next day, i've had 12+ pairs done by them

Any suggestions for places that do decent prices on thin lens (-6 prescription makes buying glasses very expensive)?
Some online ones used to have occasional offers where ultra-thin lens were the same price as standard but I've not seen one of them for a while.

What do they usually cost? Here is the price list from zenni optical that I posted above

Cheers, normally paying £70 or so. That looks cheaper but they're US based so imagine there won't be much difference once duty, etc is taken into account.

They ship from Hong Kong, I never paid any duty or tax.

Filled out a lost property form for the much mourned tortie Meteors yesterday. My wife just messaged me that she found them in her hand bag. Geddin!

Anyone have success getting Oakley Jawbones fitted with any old Rx lenses?
Id like a prescription pair for running/ riding and I have an old pair of (livestrong) Jawbones kicking about somewhere that might fit the ticket.
Yep, frame was from CRC (came with iridium) from their deal last week for £80. I think my prescription is fairly standard (-2.50 both eyes) so they delivered them in 2 days from order.
Normal specs with (or without helmet) and my face shape never really stay in position so I either adjust them all the time or I crane my neck which takes its toll, that was my biggest issue, the wind and other usual cycling shades benefits are a plus.
Contact lenses and non prescription shades also didnt work for me, my eyes fatigue quite a bit with lenses.
This is the next best thing to 20/20 vision or a laser surgery for me.
