If you're after max fun, you can do a little de-tour just before Houghton to drop into Houghton Forest. It's got some trails if you can find them. Nice to do a little bit of singletrack swoopy stuff after a day of up-oh thats a nice view-down-up- oh thats a nice view-down bridleway.

Bit jealous of your trip, but as I did it twice last year I made a pact with myself to go do some other stuff this year.

So London people will be arriving at Winchester at 09.32.
Is it acceptable for me to arrive at 09.47? :) I could go via Clapham Junction but it means two changes and twice the chances of getting dicked over by late running services. If I go via Southampton its less changes, less chances of missing connections, but it's a longer journey.

I can't make this one due to mother in law's 70th birthday 'event'(as she keeps calling it), but you lot sort out the logistics, route, and places to get beer, and I'll tag on the next one!
I've got loads of various bags/straps/sleeping systems if anyone wants to try before they buy their own.

Sleeping under the stars tonight somewhere out in the Broads as "practice". First bivvying experience. Hope I'm not eaten.
