I’ve got some Sram red levers if anyone fancies them for their sscx - the right gear shifter has a tiny crack which I don’t trust entirely for a geared bike!

What do you want for 'em?

I think my pink missile may now qualify for this thread.
A charge plug 1, with Knard 41s on.
I rode it on a Honey Badger trip round Epping on Sunday, my first real encounter with mud and roots. Really fun but I fell.off quite a lot and have bruised my coccyx something chronic.
Please excuse the slack chain. Switching freewheel to a 20t, dismantling to fit in an MGB then reassembly by the road and trying to sort out cantilever brakes - something had to give...

One issue with that bike is the weight of the wheels. If I were to get round to replacing them (quite low on the bike ToDo list right now, but you never know), what good options are there?
The whole bike cost me £299 brand new, plus £40 for the used Knard (120tpi), so I am loathe to spend much on it. (Or have lots spare to spend, if I apply classic hobby maths to the situation).

Oh and other costs have been, obviously - bar tape, 39t chain ring, 17t and 20t freewheels. Fabric bottles and studs, pink dust caps, pink cable ends.
-
• #4057
What’s the rear spacing? I’ve also got a 39 tooth chainring you can have for gratis.
-
• #4058
How heavy are they?
My first investment would be clipless pedals to prevent you from falling over.
-
• #4059
I wouldn’t bother with the fabric bottle and studs either, the hold isn’t strong enough to prevent regular ejection off road.
Have free spds too if you want them.

I might have some freewheels and cogs knocking around.
Rear wheels, yep what spacing?
I may even have some tyres as well.
And a white fizik arione.
Essentially, lots. -

I've been using the fabric bottles off road for ages. No losses.

Got a WI Dos freewheel 17+19. saves you turning the wheel around. makes cool noise for extra cool points.
-

I was DM'd last night about them, but will message you if he doesnt take them.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I've spent money on all of those things already. It has a 39t chainring, 17t for road and 20t freewheels for off road.
I have put on the blue tape and the pink bits.
I love the fabric bottles and they held up totally fine all through the forest including falls and jumps.
I have foot straps on the pedals which work well for me since this bike's main use is local pootling for shopping and child carrying. When it is in road mode it has a Tubus front rack and a Hamax seat on the back. It also has Kendall 38c slick tyres but I think I will leave the Knards on, unless they will be damaged by tarmac?

Re clipless, seems like a good idea to switch on some when I go off-road. I ride speedplay frogs, anyone use these in the mud?

Frogs? Yeah, but I love them. I buy cleats whenever I see them available. I am worried about the day they stop being available at all.

I don't know what the rear spacing is, come to think of it. Are they not standard these days?
I can Google or measure it.

BTW, thank you all for the offers of stuff. I appreciate it. I should have asked here before buying it all!

I have a SSCX wheelset for sale if you feel like upgrading. American Classic hubs, D-light spokes, WTB i19 rims
I like that.
