Stem. Had to get it as it matches the catalogue but may not stay on the build.

So you're getting an adaptor?
-
• #57
I think I will end up fitting a quill but had to buy the matching ahead stem.
-

I've only ever used quill stems, are the adaptors the best way forward ?
-
• #59
I've used adaptors on both my AL264 and KG121. I wouldn't bother again. They're just not good. Get a proper quill stem. Don't waste your time.

This looks great. I regret selling my mine but still have a period correctish KG221, on which I swapped back from ahead adapter to quill. I thought it looked not quite right with ahead, stem dimensions too bulky. However it looked OK on the KG231, but that had modern components. Also never had slippage issues with seatpost bolt, was fine.

I have some old Look pedals that you can have for the price of the postage.
They're not CA ones, and not mint by any means, but I think they're from about the right era, the threads are still good, and they appear to match your frame colours.I have also have some DA bits, which might well be 7700, ironically on a second hand Look AL 374 that I picked up a couple of months ago. Will check tomorrow...

Just checked now, and yes, DA 7700 shifters, brakes, and front and rear mechs.
No matching chainset unfortunately, it had been swapped out a few years ago for a compact Tiagra one, which probably explains why I got the bike for the price that I did.PM me if interested in DA bits (Look pedals you can still have for free).

Nice, but worth repeating that they were subject to a recall.

Life's subject to a recall. ; )

subject to a recall
Thanks, I missed that in your 1st post.
Can you recall why and was it some kind of catastrophic failure issue ? -
• #71
Also chucking it through Google

Searching for that recall, the next version no4 snapped within the post for one chap.

Mate, thanks.
It doesn't sound like you would want to experience that :) -

I have no intention of riding mine. Bikes are actually really dangerous. I'll just drive my Range Rover Evoque to Richmond Park with the bike on the top and go for an espresso in full Rapha kit.
