• Quite an amazing one last night. Riding home, I was turning right from Roman Road into Cambridge Heath Road. I was in no particular hurry and thought 'let's do a nice, proper wide turn' (you can cut right fairly diagonally at this junction and it's a split phase between Bethnal Green Road and Roman Road). Just then a seemingly drunk moped rider (judging by the inebriated shouting) with a pillion passenger ran the red traffic light on Bethnal Green Road. Had I turned less wide they might well have hit me. As it was, there was still plenty of space between me and them. They then performed a full circle inside the junction (as drivers were still coming out of Roman Road, both to go straight and turn) and raced back along Bethnal Green Road.

  • Probably not drunk (or could be drunk, who knows), likely to be kids on a nicked scooter - it's something that's become really common around East London recently, the side streets between Liverpool Street and Dalston are especially bad with all the little pr*cks who drive on pavements and grab people's phones.
