The rim in question is a Stan's ZTR Grail which is BST-R, which is probably at odds with the IRC Formula Pro X-guard in question (though I haven't died a jizzy death yet).
Happily I don't have to burden you with the old question of 'why does my tyre deflate', as these seem to hold the air considerably better than Schwalbe nightmares.
My experience so far is that if all the air escapes, the tyre deforms under the loss of pressure and the seal fails. I usually end up pushing about 110 psi in, so that there's still a chance some air will still be present once I get the core back in. Just wondered if I was missing something, no biggie.
Also, why do I always end up bending my Presta cores (the bit you undo to get air in)? Am I not supposed to fully undo them?
