Judging by the maintenance state of most Bromptons I think tubeless would be several steps too far for the average user.

just completed 500 miles on my giant gavia tubeless tyres without any problems, while washing the bike this morning i noticed a 5mm split where you can see the white sealant which did its job as it never lost pressure. Do i forget all about it and keep on riding, does the tyre need some sort of repair or is it ready for the bin? Thanks
just seen the cycleclinic video and have got me answer. thanks -

"the bike industry needs to settle on standards"
Where is Andy when you need him?

I think you need come to the tubeless tyre repair workshop at Maglia rosso in Hawstead Suffolk on the 25th May. I will be showing everyone the tricks as this thread shows this is needed. The tyre can only unmount if its too loose.
If the vlave has to come out to get them to seat then you need more tape. you can tell this by how they mount.

damn, want to come to this but have to work on Fridays. planning on running any others, evenings or weekends in London?
-
• #2332
Yes. Maybe in London this summer. I have to talk to the shop first. I plan to many more.

Thanks Malcolm. I'll give another run of tape on it. I've got 18mm internal rims, will I need tape wider than this or as close to that number as possible. EDIT: I'll just get some 21mm stans for now and order some Tesa tape from eBay.
As for the workshop, sounds good! I'm in Cambridge that weekend so may be able to go.

What size supremes? Could you measure them for me if they're 35c?
-
• #2335
https://www.cxmagazine.com/vittoria-tires-terreno-zero-gravel-all-road-side-knobs maybe? 37mm is a nice size - could use more options in the mid 30s.

They look, interesting?
Terreno is the thing to look for then. -
• #2337
I’m about to install a pair of the Terreno Dry tyres on the cross bike. Ping me in a week or two and I’ll update you.

IRC Boken is coming https://ircbike.com/collections/gravel-tires/products/boken
I have some prototype tyres here.

Do they measure up at 35mm?

Does anybody have an opinion on Corsa G+ 28c set up tubeless?
I would like tubeless gumwall tyres for weekend rides on.my road bike. -
• #2342
dont do it. They are not tubeless tyres and not tyres that should be used ghetto tubeless.
-
• #2343
I thought they were.
Is there any out there then? Gravel Kings? -
• #2344
Lolwut?
Most Bromy users get angry when a hinge snaps on a ten year old, daily battered bike.

To bring it back around, 'casual' or 'road' tubeless is not there yet. I get two punctures a year max on my £10 vittoria zaffiros, commuting daily and a season of TNRC and MAMIL weekend lanes. The knowledge and faff requirement threshold is still yet to be breached. @amey has the perfect example in Bromptons - until a City bro can pop into any old bike shop and splash out £70 for a whole new tyre set up and still not be late for work tubeless remains at the at the bike seminar and TEDTalk level. Until the standards have settled, tubeless is for off-road, road nerds and #buyers

Last pair I installed (pro one on chinacarbon™) took me about 20 minutes, tape and everything, with a track pump.
On the other hand bleeding brakes is always a mess to me, and everyone is happy to jump in that wagon -

I bled mine in 2002, tyre fitting tends to come around a bit more often.

Can't remember. They looked pretty big though.

Lucky you I used to get at least two a month and had to carry a bike shops worth of tubes. Perhaps you should go back to tubes on your card
A customer dropped in today for tubeless setup. I did it in front of him. It took once his old tyres and tubes were removed 20 minutes for wheels. No faff, no mess. That was IRC tyres on superstar wheel using kinlin rims. With those rims it could be mist tubeless tyres and it will be a quick install. Faff happens when the tyre or rim is not up to being tubeless or the fitter has made a mistake. Don't blame the technology for that. It well worn tech. Some manufacturers seem to get confused and make rims to small or tyres to big but that's not the technologues fault just fuzzy logic of some humans. Of course you have fuzzy logic too thinking tubeless is just about punctures. If you don't get it fine but try to avoid telling us all that it not well developed yet or not needed.

Manufacturers recommended pressure range for tubeless tyres ..... they're all high. What gives?
They're around similar to what I'd run with tubes. Are these recommendations conservative in order cover their backs, with most people running pressures around or below those figures?
I have no idea why Brompton hasn't gone tubeless. I cant think of any better scenario for tubeless.
Are wheelchair tyres tubeless?
