  • your head, my claws. happinin'

  • Yep, he digs his claws in to my back to get me to cook mediocre pasta dishes.

  • What happens when you move your boat to a differnet location? Are you not worried she might go out and get lost?

  • I’ve been out all day, drinks and supper out, didn’t get home til midnight. Dizzy is very put out, but will forgive me if I give scratchy ear rubs for 30 minutes. Minimum.

  • She doesn't seem to wander far. The boat is definitely her territory & she knows who feeds her so always comes back for snacks. No problems so far.

  • Nice colours (both the cat, and the gravel) !

  • Happily watching the water ripples whilst on the move. Last night we moored at a glorious spot & bumped into some people who know the previous owners of our boat. Their dog got onboard looking for his dog friend, instead he got cornered by Lula Balula!
She loved that spot & had a good wander once the dog disappeared. She doesn't like our current spot at all & is trying to cool down by lying down on the boats floor. I might have to join her, it's a scorcher!

(Still can't upload pics directly... not sure why... and this might just be an excuse to shamelessly say I have an Instagram account mostly about my cat...)

  • Hendricks was lording over us again from the top of the cabinets last night.

  • It's more warm up there

  • New nap spot. Pretty much the highest spot he can possibly reach.

  • Fleur is losing fur from the back of her ears. No sign of fleas, ear mites or any other issue. Looks like she’s overgrooming a bit to the point where she scratched herself today :(

She’s going into the vets on Saturday to get checked out but has anyone experienced anything similar?

  • Scary moment last night, Gizmo cat fall off the window ledge last night which is about 25 foot up, happened as she was coming back through at the same time as Gabba cat came into the room, Gabba cat doesn't have the best eyes and thought it was just another cat, launch herself at the window Gizmo cat backed up and slipped and fell. Rushed downstairs appears fine a bruised ego but no signs of injury or pain.

Can't get that vision of her falling out of my head, makes me feel a little sick.

  • glad to hear all ok - i'm sure you will but keep an eye on her over the next few days , cats are great at dealing with and hiding any pain :D

  • Having an afternoon kip on the weekend and woke up to this.

Contrary to the catflap i don't own a cat anymore so was somewhat surprised to find this jerk trying to enter my house whilst i'm lying there in full view. It literally kept putting it's paw on the step to enter but receded each time i yelled no at it. My girlfriend on the other hand went into full "so cute" mode, so i banished both of them to play in the garden. She then got the lecture on how you should never feed someone else's cat and it's not cool to pet someone else's animal without there permission. It's been back several times now to chill in the garden but we're doing our best to ignore it. Question is, is petting someone else's cat in your garden OK?

I now find myself looking at the window waiting for twatface as i've called it to return and brighten my day but i have a horrible feeling he/she comes from the questionable home that backs on to my garden and is most likely looking for a better gig.

Gonna ask around the neighbourhood and see if anyone knows who it belongs to. Condition wise it looks healthy but there's no collar and is clearly very young, there is also the possibility that it's an abandoned stray.

  • I always pet the hell out of a couple of cats on my street who run over to my front steps when I come out, is that not considered OK? I would ask the owner first if I wanted to stroke their dog but I kind of consider cats fair game if they come up to me since they're hanging out on their own in public.

  • I pet garden cats all the time, I don't feed them or let them in the house. It's fine.

  • If the cat lets you pet, pet away!

  • I get to see my boy (cat) for the first time in 5 months next weekend. Very, very excited!

  • pet away but don't let in to the house and don't feed it.
oh and that photo the cat is obvs plotting to kill you

  • "....he doesnt realise ive plucked his rear tyre with my claws....."

  • Agree, petting cats is fine. And no real need to find out where they're from if they seem happy and healthy, apart from curiosity.

  • He does have an evil face!!!
