I have literally just done this. I think it’s worth bearing in mind that new decals are fairly thin compared to those of old, and they’re generally inkjet printed compared to whatever method used to be used to print them. Whatever they used, old decals were quite durable and were pretty resistant to abrasions and UV. I’m not quite as confident that new ones are.
First set I applied were on my Vitus, so they are on bare alloy and not lacquered over. They are fine after a couple of years. Second set are on my XB3 and lacquered on top. The sharp pointy corners are noticeably less likely to get snagged. However, you do lose that old-style solid colour finish when you lacquer a frame.

@Jonny69 Cheers. Still half tempted, as the bloke won't give me the illustrator file of the logo. Twonk. I'll probably pull my finger out and redraw it. It didn't occur to the guy that did it and moved his God-like finger that other people might have Adobe creative suite... and that everyone in life is just muddling along. I've lost count of how many logo's I've originated and supplied on request, might add this to the graphic as a tribute...

Yay or nay, was just thinking of improving the longevity of the spray finish on my Fanini (yes I know, there's a serious joke in there)
