    For what it is worth in my Audax days I and many others used Surgical spirit to clean the sit bone area, it helps toughen the skin, (DO NOT DO THIS POST RIDE OR HOT BATH) as someone old Cycling Plus forum did .

    For arse creams either Pro-shield or one II used was Siopel, these are for preventing bed sores but work by stopping the sweating and ergo production of salt crystals which is what does the damage, I used to carry wet wipes and clean and reapply at every check control or sixty to eighty miles., you find out what works for you in training or other events.
