I used to teach sailing out in Greece in the summers and always loved watching the fire planes scooping from my perch in a rescue boat. Seemed pretty ineffectual when they actually dropped it on a mass of burning forest. Cool though.

We have a lot of those around here, being close to combustibles and lakes/rivers.

I used to have top left, made driving a mini very impractical.

Not sure from your comment if you already had worked it out, but it could be Ellie Uyttenbroek and Ari Versluis.

@Miitch It will do the job. I had one, but I found packing in to it to be a real ball ache. Lining it all up is like a very challenging puzzle you're not sure is solvable. It's strong though and for the money pretty decent. I used mine for two trips to mallorca and nothing broke.
I ended up selling mine and paying double for an alan. Do not regret, so much easier to pack.

IT question from a total noob. Is there an easy way I can check to see if my internet at home is up and running when I'm out?

who is your SP?

Virgin. Checked with them and service is fine, but that doesn't mean the network is running, eg say there was a power cut to my house.

Set up a static IP using something like https://www.noip.com open a port and ping something on your network (probably has a variety of security issues and is full of technical words that I only half know the meaning of).
Have something on your home network that you can connect to externally (heating, lights, etc). See if you can connect to it.

Do you have virgin telly? See if you can talk to the tivo...

Do you have a computer that could be on all the time and connected to the internet?
Someone has probably made a script that pings an external site every 30 mins or so and logs the result. That’s all you need.

Looks promising. Hmmmmmm

Another option, assuming you have them; Check your compressionless cable outer. I had one partially burst a while back.

i'm wondering if the shifter is pulling too much cable and therefore ripping out the cable off the clamp on the mech - its the only common factor......

Just taken a CAAD12 to Malaga and back in one. No problems, didn't find it too much of a faff to pack

A older gentleman I know recently gave me his mountain of vintage parts I'm still sifting through a lot of it but came across these wheels and wondering if anyone could give me any info? Plus an estimate on price, trying to sell a lot of the bulkier items I have no use for and do something nice for him.

Asking price, or completed sales? There's a good deal of piss-taking with asking prices for Campag, only NOS ever achieves anything like those prices. Ratty Nuovo Record like your find isn't worth much. With hubs bearing condition is critical. Worn or pitted cups and cones would knock £50 off the £60 you should be asking for those if the bearings are good.

Alright cheers, thanks for honest answer actually mechanically sound bearings are good just all covered in grease only slight pitting is on quick releases so quick tidy up and will get them off to someone for £40 hopefully

Need some help about a councils responsibility in regards to road markings. I was riding back from new workshop for the first time at about 10pm this week with a colleague, the next thing I know I'm on the ground. Get myself up and drag bike off road, only to realise my friend is behind me, knocked out cold with teeth missing. Both bikes are written off,the first ever isen and a 953 Talbot. There was a paedstrian crossing that jutted out into the road, but had absolutely no markings on. It was dark, terrible lighting and was totally invisible. Wahoo says we were going at about 30km/h when we hit it, one after another so it could have been a lot worse, but still. Is there any requirement for these things to be marked? We both had lights etc but due to the conditions it was hard to see even when I went back to look at it after the crash. Looked on rider down forum for somewhere to post this, but couldn't find. Photo of the offending crossing, although in the day.

You can keep the sea planes, I'll take that bad boy in the background.
