It would not be too much to ask at all.

What mechanical disc brake works best with Force 10 speed levers? I’m using hyrds at the moment and the throw is just too much - the shifter paddle is touching the bars.
Did the sawing another slot in the Caliper for the cable but that didn’t help enough.

You letting the actuation arm release fully so the pads self adjust?
-
• #4956
selective reading! Ha!
Although it is not a bad idea!

Very mature reply... #justsayin
Yeah, you can do whatever you want cos it's your cash and your bike but if you ask for advice maybe cut back on the sass slightly? ;)
To be honest my comments come from experience as I've run disc brakes for polo and I've never had any issues with post mount or IS. This as you know is a game which pushes the bike and brakes quite a bit.
This is not only just me, I do fix a lot of other player's brakes courtside be it just an alignment of caliper, full bleed or shortening the hose.
And from the above, I've yet to see a flat mount polo setup as I've said before post mount (and by default IS) are still the preferred choice.

Your frustration is acknowledged but I think it's somewhat misdirected.
I'll blame frame and forks producers and hamfisted mechanics not post mount standard.
Also lest we forget, IS standard is one of the main benefactors of post mount as it's just an adaptor to fit between the former and latter.
Hamfisted mechanics buggering up your flat mount calipers? Possibility too...

Whatever.
How's that for being immature? You were the one who started giving advice on post mount vs flat mount which I didn't ask for, Ben.
-
• #4960
TBF, it had been mentioned that adaptors were not wanted already but other solutions were.
-
• #4961
Read up on fallacy and then tell me what you think I'm referring to.
And whatever, what a mature response innit?
-
• #4962
Why have a solution to a problem which is caused by making the wrong decision in the first place?
Why not make avoid making the wrong decision and not have a solution as it won't be needed?

Flat mount is a relatively new standard, I doubt many people are playing polo on bikes manufactured in the last year or so.

Pop the axle cap off and you are good, had the same issue (mine are QR).
Mine were on super tight first time, stuck an Allen key through and pushed them out*See the exploded view http://www.hopetech.com/product/rs4-road-rear-hub/#tech
*other methods may be better but I don't know any better..

I’d suggest post mount is similar to square taper cranks. Both systems work but are frequently fucked up by users rendering and expensive part useless. It’s easier to find a better interface than to eradicate the problem of human stupidity.
If a component is likely to be broken by incorrect installation make it the cheaper part that fails. So with the change from square taper to two piece cranks it went from the crank arm failing to the cheaper BB failing if installed poorly. With the change from post mount to flat mount it is now the caliper rather than the frame that is likely to get damaged.

Does anyone have clearance issues using this lockring on the forks in particular? I've got the RS4 hubs too in 12mm flavour and find the to be only about 1mm clearance to the fork. I worry that with some slight flex when out of saddle it could damage the fork. Any way around this?

Hunt sell a regular or slim version, maybe that would do it?

Not something I've encountered, 1mm is loads anyway, get a bigger lock ring.

Or making a decision based on what they want and what may well be better in the future, this being a custom frame that'll likely outlast any parts on it. Whatever the reason for the decision it doesn't really matter, they've asked a specific question and have already said they don't want adaptors, unless it was impossible or really stupid to not use adaptors, then the answers shouldn't really be about them.

Possibly but polo bikes setup are usually customised, especially the fork/front end and we do adopt new specs/standards/setups quite quickly.
I've noticed 650b, oversized head tube, tapered forks and 15mm bolt on forks on quite a few instances but not flat mount as of yet.
Probably because choices of brakes are quite limited which makes a courtside swap less likely in the event of a brake failure.
-
• #4971
Mate, you do know that a front flat mount has an adaptor right?
-
• #4972
This!
-
• #4973
I think he means adapter as in a gizmo that allows swapping one standard for another, rather than a designed in part of the system like with FM front.
But yeah FM front could be better.

• #4974
Flat mount is a road standard no? Not many people playing polo with drop bar levers I would have thought
-
• #4975
How does the thin differ to the regular? They don't have a photo to signify which is which.
I suppose it would be too much to ask for a standard external bb cup tool to fit those splines? Park BBT-9 for instance?
