  • gonna need 2, 2.5 x 0.5m slabs (guestimate) - we've been sniffing around various reclamation yards but finding matching bits that aren't fucked is proving challenging. is granite much of a muchness?

  • Different types are more or less porous and/or prone to cracking, depending on the make up, veining, etc. That's about the limit of my knowledge though. 2.5m is pretty long - if one of those would have a sink cut out, you could consider a full-depth sink, so you only need 2*1 m bits that side instead. Or have a trim piece at the back of a normal Belfast sink. That's how we worked it around ours, as the sink cutout broke when it was originally removed.

335,000 property price with 10% deposit. Am i right in thinking that with 3 or 5 year terms i think i'll breach 80% LTV, whereas i dont think i would with a 2 year.. is that something worth considering?

  • LTV is only a consideration when you remortgage.
Personally I think the rates aren’t going to get much better than that so I would fix for as long as possible.

  • We went for 5 year fixed, just to see us through Brexit.

  • removed a dwarf wall

    Got pics?

  • 5 makes sense in traditional terms (longer term security) but given your nature of work (and where you work) wont be affected by Brexit I'd go 2 because I am pretty certain you'd want to move towards something bigger/better in 2 years.

  • Yeah but interest rates? Potentially a big hike might be needed to defend the currency etc etc

  • can anyone recommend a good builder for some refurbishment work i need doing - south london

  • Lease extension resolved. 125 whole years remaining.

    Happy days.
