I have yet to get a puncture on my Brompton but when I do the preferred technique will be to fold it up and get on a bus.

Found out the cause on my shifting woes. I, er, hadn't fully tightened the tensioner arm back on.
Guards are going straight back on after this morning, was fun while it lasted.

Hey anyone have any experience with the j&l titanium rear triangle. Seen a couple up for sale on eBay and was wondering whether itβs worth the Β£400 for a punt.
Also does anyone want to sell a titanium rear triangle, feel like I need one in my life..

I have a silver one spare?
-
• #3988
The quality isnt there, I wouldnt waste my money!
You can pick up brompton forks/rear ends for about Β£600-700
Or wait til I have one to sell, I sell them for Β£550-600 but not a regular thing, only when the right spec bike comes up and i would rather have it as all steel!

I've got mudguards but isn't it that you have to change it for the rack? The rack kits always come with a different rear mudguard blade.
-

Bear me in mind. Itβs not urgent but I use the Brompton more than I imagined and upgrading to make it lighter is on the cards.

Are the CHPT3 Tan-wall Schwalbe Kojaks tyres available to purchase yet? And do the Schwalbe Kojaks run any better than the standard Brompton tires?
-
• #3996
No, yes

@umop3pisdn is the "yes" for the light version at 230g or the really light version at 185g? Is there a big difference aside from the weight from the standard at 420g and saving 1/2kg?
-
• #3998
I suppose I've got the really light version as mine are folding but that seems to be the only difference between the two. They're faster, probably a bit less comfy due to a smaller carcass and probably a lot more prone to punctures.
If I wasn't being a tart and pretending it makes sense to put super light tyres on for London, I'd be more than happy with a Brompton front/Marathon rear combo.
-
• #3999
Nope. You have to purchase the whole bike; Schwalbe ainβt releasing them on their own as I found out recently.
-
• #4000
Yes, but only if you own a CHPT3
Thanks ed, I wouldn't have thought to take pliers.
