  • Lucky the pave was dry and dusty (ish) so the 32s were great!
Looking at your I’m regretting not going for the TB14s - looks ace! 👍🏻

  • Gazelle done - going to add some mudguards and link up the dynamo for lighting and phone charging and get a white Bidon - anyone got a gazelle on going spare?
it was so nice on the cobbles!

  • How wide a tire did you manage to squize in?

  • Managed to get 32s in... just...

  • @mattyc

    Just buy it man!

  • Awesome! I'm on it, Cheers!

  • Gah! I should know but I've not been actively searching recently... what's the going rate for an old steel track frame these days? ballpark?

I've wanted a Gazelle track for ages but when it comes to it I never feel compelled to spend over the odds, I'd be happy with £250ish for the right colourway but sellers seem to want double that minimum... I can see why some full builds may justify the £1000 mark with panto groupsets, fancy lugs and chrome for your Merckx, Nags, Rossins etc but Gazelles are fairly plain, that's why I like them... am I asking for the moon on a stick?

  • I paid £350 for my 64cm baanfiets (almost everything but the wheels) about five years ago in the classifieds here. Sadly resprayed and badly re-decalled. Probably a bit over the odds, but then 64cm track frames don't come around very often.

My wife's 54cm baanfiets f&f cost £300 off ebay about 18 months ago.

I'm no expert, but I reckon anything under £300 is a decent price.

  • Happy Baanfietsday everyone!!

  • About bloody time ;-)

    Where, how, cost?

  • was thinking of gazumping you on that one for the lols

    well done

  • Picked it up in Stoke Newington for a good price from a chap on here - cheers @Simpson

@dicki haha cheers! managed to get the guy on Marktplaats down to 450euros sans postage... too much imo, it’s not my favourite colourway, doesn’t have the Panto fork crowns or the curved brake bridge so I walked away

I’m so chuffed! Nearly pulled a sicky so I could polish it and instal the headset properly... looking forward to the bank holiday!!

  • Very nice indeed. What's the plan for the build? Sick fixie skiddah?

Also, nice Ercol Windsor carvers. Dibs if you sell, etc.

  • Cheers! not sure on the build... spok and risers for now but aiming for something tasteful in the long run - tout mavic or campag c-record if I can afford it...

Ercolwise I've got a load of it from my parents house - mum bought it all in one hit in the 70s - I've got carver chairs, rockers, daybed, sideboard, tv stand, drinks trolly and more... my wife thinks its all a bit to mid century modern but its quality stuff - It could all do with an overhaul though... another long project...

    Cheers again,
    Matt

  • you dare put a spok on that and it'll be taken away from you for crimes to biking

  • drinks trolly

What time does your Butler roll in the afternoon snifters?

  • Ha! I am the butler! The casters are farked so the tortoise lives on it... I do have a cocktail cabinet though... and a neon...

  • Anyway we digress! Can I make a polite request for all those who own or have owned a baanfiets to post some pictures for inspiration!

  • Troll face.jpg
