  • awesome.
    How old is your child?
I just had my 18 month old daughter in our new Bullitt and she was not a happy camper one bit. Not that I'm going to let her call the shots.

  • She just turned 2, we've been riding around on the Bullitt the last 4 months but she's been on a bike since she was around 10 months old roughly.

What's your setup look like? Do you have the canopy with the standard seat? I've used a seat from a stroller straped on but made sure that she's extra comfy when we jump off curbs by using extra padding both under and on top of her seat. She finds it very comfortable and never complains which is rad as we tend to go on relatively long rides together. Comfort and a sense of security is everything for and infant/young kid.

  • Yeah I was thinking your seat looked comfortable. 4 months sounds good. what setup were you using prior to bullitt? handlebar seat or pannier ?

I went with the standard foldable seat and bbx box.
I was under the impression that the seat came with shoulder straps but it only came with two waist belts.
I could definitely do something to make her feel more secure and stable by acquiring some shoulder straps at least but she's a stubborn kid and I know she's going to make me pay if I don't get her into this on her terms.

  • I've got a Hamax Caress on another bike which is rad cause it has reclining system integrated in the bike seat, adjustable up to 20° I think meaning that they can easily lay back and take a nap without their heads falling forward.
I'm sure you could find a 5 point harness and DIY it into place if you're up for it. It would help her feel more secure for sure and that's important cause she calls the shots 😋!

  • @MisterMikkel next year mate. @Thuekr that's valid for you too.

  • ...made sure that she's extra comfy when we jump off curbs...

One of the raddest things I've read on the forum!

  • ..not the most special one but I liked the stickers
    : ]

(what are those roundish cutouts for?)

  • Awesome. My daughter is a lot bigger than that now ... Friday was "bike day" at her childcare, meaning bring the kids bikes. The irony was that that meant bringing her by car, because her bike and herself do not fit in the cargo bike together.

  • We fitted a rear rack on our Douze that enables us to bungee our boys bike on the back because once you chuck a kid in the front with a bag, there's not a lot of room left! Use rear rack for pannier too as it means I can use the same bag for my work stuff whether I'm on the cargo or fixed.

  • Another day our boy is glad his parents bought a bike with full canopy...

  • Bungee how? Just front wheel onto rack, then like trailer?

  • Looks great!

I wish my parents would have driven me around in a thing like that instead of the back seat of cars.

  • Our boy is 4 so he's on a small Isla Cnoc (14" from memory).

We lay down a thin sheet of neoprene over the rack (or anything to stop metal-on-metal) and put bike on it's side and then bungee the hell out of it to pull it down against the rack. His bike sticks out the back a bit but works well. We leave the canopy on the bike virtually all the time so this limits the amount of stuff we can have hanging out the front of the bike...

  • Yep, a tad wet & windy in London today. I'm very happy in the rain, must be my Welsh upbringing! :) Canopy is also great in the sun to keep the heat/UV rays off the little man. roll all the windows up and there's plenty of airflow, plus a built-in fly screen on the front.

  • I got hold of an early, and pretty standard, Bullitt from a friend. He'd been using it to move his kid around, but when they upped sticks and moved I took it on. I've fitted an SLX 1x11 hydraulic groups, and got a nice pair of wheels with an SP dynamo built by SBC.

Box comes from a company called Trifibre, it's a well sealed alloy case.

I move the hinges so it opens at the handlebar end, stuck a couple of gas lifts in there and put it on small alloy box section rails to make it fit just so. Reflective black vinyl on the sides of the box.

  • If you ever want to sell. This is aim 1 of bike clearance

  • i fully support the 'selling nigh on all your bikes and having a cargo and a something else' approach. this bike has improved my QOL x 1000

(also i'm not at rlh any more - hope you're still enjoying it!)

    that pink bullitt is smashing.

  • I don't know if this is old news but I saw a DHL-Bullit in Berlin today.

  • If I ever move out of flat, cargo bike is first thing on list to buy..

  • what's on the seat stay?
