No, andyp was right the first time. If you racing anything less than a 12hr you should be working hard enough you don't notice the cold until you stop*. For a 50mi you're probably producing as much heat energy as one of those little bar heaters.

Daft question: my skinsuit has got a massive neck opening and it is going to be cold tomorrow morning. Not worn it on a cold day before.
What do people do, wear a base layer underneath?
